Situated 240 KM Away from Colombo at the edge of the Dry Zone and a mere one hour drive from the holiday atmosphere of Bandarawela, a breathtaking and refreshing 20 minutes trek to the bottom of valley brings the guest to a new way of life – the ‘Eco Lodge’ spaced out through 150 acres of primary jungles, where nature and man meet in a beautiful and content harmony.

Adventure in the jungle and pre planned activities with state of the Art equipment Ideal model of existence being encountered in the Eco Systems with related wilderness, part of this out of the ordinary experience process will be that the traveler is afforded the required environment and facilities for Transcendental Meditation, and is also exposed backyards of Sri Lanka culture, life styles and Eco Systems of history and spirituality are found in abundance. Fork Lore state that Ravana the warrior king kept princess Sita hidden in a Rock Cave in this area.

The Main Resort

Recommends The Main Resort consisting of 02 Deluxe Rooms, 07 Standard Rooms, and 01 Tree House with all modern amenities with a spacious restaurant and a fully stocked Bar.
Thrill & Adventure of Ankelipauwa
For both the Adventurous thrill seekers and for those carving for monastic environment, we recommend The Camping Site Eco Lodges situated 2 km away from the main resort that is possible to be reached by trekking the path. Two options are available for guests, to move on a 4 Wheel Vehicle for approximately 10 minutes and to move on a flat terrain trek which could be possibly trekked within 30-45 minutes or to move on a downhill descending trek 30-45 minutes movement time. Guests are accompanied by our experienced guides from the Main Resort to the Camping Site. The Camp Site consists of 6 Eco Log Cabins of 12 Units and Canvas Camping Tents for 40 guests. A Restaurant by the Kirindi Oya and village type, fully stocked bar is available at the Camping Site, Room Service is available on request.
The Camping Site consists of basic amenities such as pipe born water and sanitary facilities, but without electricity, which gives the visitor a taste of primitive life style.
With no mosquitoes, and no heat, this is an area recognized as one of the best healing environments in the world. Nightlife glorified with campfire, decorated with fireflies of hurricane lamps brings out of the best nightfall. However, with the need to utilize electricity by the visitors in mind, supply of electricity to the Camping Site is now on the cards.

Ella Adventure Park is also a haven for the bold and the adventurous. Eco Adventure park provides the opportunity for the young men and women in the age group of 16- 60 to discover themselves their individual and collective strengths & weaknesses; Learn leadership and team work, decision making, goal setting & problem solving to respect the environment – the natural habitat, reflection and evolution, and last but not the least confidence and compassion to the nature.
While offering a wide array od adventure the safety factor of participants is considered vital; each and every activity is designed and implemented with the safety factor taking pride of place. To ensure unhindered continuance of safety, safety audits and training are conducted on a Regular basis.
The Team at Ella Adventure Park consists of a mixture of Senior Retired Service Officers and management Experts. They count long years of experience in Operational, administrative and Management Fields and supervise the team of Instructors who have commando and Special Service background. The Instructors have the added qualification of having undergone overseas training in Eco Adventure Based activities as well. |
